Our client Lanxess are global producers of industrial chemicals. They called our installation team in to replace two floor standing heaters which had damaged heat exchangers. This was at their Meekings Road warehouse in Sudbury.
Due to atmospheric conditions, the defective heat exchangers installation had corroded over time.
Following a site assessment, and our subsequent recommendations, we replaced the existing galvanised panel heat exchangers with uprated stainless steel installation. These uprated units draw in combustion air from the outside to help overcome future corrosion problems. This prolongs the life of the equipment.
The project included removal the existing equipment and making alterations to the existing installation. It also involved relocating the new exchangers. The work took 4 days to complete.
Due to the highly volatile nature of the chemicals produced and stored on site, our installation team had to comply with very stringent health and safety regulations. This included wearing full PPE, cordoning off the work area and completing daily work permits.
Following completion, Gary Martin – Lanxess Contract Co-ordinator at the site commented on the work the installation team carried out:
“Can you please pass my thanks onto the installation team for a first class job with the installation of the heat exchangers at Meekings Rd. They adhered to all our site safety procedures and completed the job without incidents or injury.”
Because Thermalair took great pride in carrying out this installation with their experienced team, we are thrilled with this feedback.
