Heating System Installation – St. Peter’s Church – Bury St Edmonds

Project Overview

St Peter’s Church in Bury St Edmunds is a traditional style from flint and brick build. The heating system it had was a gas system. This system was no longer efficient and had become unreliable.

The requirement was to come up with a heating system solution that stayed with the current warm-air design but was able to fit into the small space that the current hearting units occupied.

Proposal

We proposed to replace the old horizontal-discharge heater. This would include installing a new-generation system with a vertically-downwards airflow. We suggested Reznor manufactured units. These units are ‘room-sealed’ and have a much better-operating efficiency and therefore reduced energy consumption.

Outcome

Thermalair completed the work successfully despite the significant challenges due to space constraints and access issues. This also gave further benefits with reduced running costs. Furthermore, it simplified and reduced the ductwork considerably and had a much smaller footprint and better access.

Once we have completed an installation, servicing and maintenance is very important. Read our article about Servicing and maintaining a heating system.

Thermalair takes great pride in delivering a professional service and ensuring that we are sensitive to the environment. We take care with our installations when working in traditional settings such as this one.
